Donate Blood & Help An Injured Firefighter
Firefighter Robert Wiedmann Jr., FDNY - Rescue 2, was critically injured on Monday, December 19, 2011 while operating at Box 920 in Crown Heights Brooklyn. Rob was injured doing the job he loves, being a firefighter and helping other people. Now Rob needs our help! He is in the Cornell Burn Center facing a long and difficult road to recovery. That road to recovery includes many surgeries and Rob will need blood available for each one. Rob was always available to answer a call for help, whether as a FDNY Firefighter, a former Captain of Hose Company Three of the Baldwin Fire Department or as a Firefighter in Engine One of the Islip Fire Department. Now we are asking you to help him!
There will be a GENERAL BLOOD DRIVE in ROB WIEDMANN’s NAME on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Baldwin Fire Headquarters. The hours are 10 am to 8 pm. Baldwin Fire Headquarters is located at 2386 Grand Ave. Baldwin, NY 11510. All blood types will be collected at this blood drive, including O Negative.
Currently, Rob’s Directed Donation Bank of O Negative blood is at his current need level. All O Negative donors who have not yet donated should donate at the General Blood Drive on Friday, December 30, 2011.
Monetary Donations are also being accepted through the FDNY Rescue 2 Mayday Fund. Visit their website, www.fdnyrescue2.org.
