Fundraiser for Ex-Chief Romano Lovrich
On the night of Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 the Long Beach Fire Department sponsored a fundraiser for Ex-Chief Romano Lovrich and his family at the Sands on Lido Beach. Romano is a forty plus year member of the department from Tower Ladder 2372 and is still very active to this day; however, recently his wife Jeannette was in a tragic accident that left her paralyzed.
The purpose of the Wednesday night fundraiser was to collect money to help the Lovrich Family purchase a wheelchair accessible van and take care of other related expenses. Well over 400 people attended the event exceeding the expectation of event organizers. During the night, there was an appearance by the Nassau County Firefighters Pipes and Drums Band as well as several raffles and prize giveaways.
